vineyard and winery location. Catena, who are behind the innovation, have bought and leased different types of land all across Argentina and have used their expertise to seek out the very best combinations of varieties, soil types, altitude levels and climatic influences in order to extract the highest potential from each of the planted varieties that they have used. Planting in Salta, Mendoza and right the way to Patagonia in the south, the results are fascinating. Deep reds, fresh reds, elegant whites and crisp crunchy white - it seems that any idea of a house style has been left to one side in this project, in order to allow for regional character to come through. Yet, that is exactly the house style of Catena! It is simply the case that as they have hitherto fore been using their amazing sites in Mendoza, much of the wines have seen a familial uniformity and that now, with wines across the country, a newer range of flavours can be experienced. It is a very interesting a new method for winemaking that will continue to yield fascinating, high-quality results
