Alvaro Palacios, Camins del Priorat, 2013

Spain · Priorat
This is a superb example of a Spanish region that is normally priced-out of the market. Full of spice and minerality, this is really delicious wine.

Alvaro Palacios
Alvaro Palacios is one of the most famous names in Spanish wine. He has carved a reputation in the modern era second to perhaps only Miguel Torres. His quality is stimply stunning in each product that he makes and in each regino, he has found a different expressino of his voice. The estates that he has collected over the last number of decades are simply some of the most exciting and high quality available. Through his hard work and endeavour he and his team and have brought attention to the vineyards in regions many thought forgotten or lost. In this wine though, he has taken a region that many people are all too aware of but have often not tried because of the exorbitant costs normally associated. It was such a surprise that the wine was at this price that we thought we had been sold a pup: but when we tried it, we were astonished at the quality and generosity that it showed. A fine and structured wine that actually makes you want to try more.
