Bodegas Barahonda
Bodegas Barahonda are a modern winery based in the deep south east of Spain and makes excellent wines that focus on indigenous Spanish and often local grape varieties. The great key for reds in this region is the Monastrell variety, which is the same as Mataro in Australia and Mourvedre in the south of France. Here it gives structure, dark colour and a lovely inky flavour to the wine. Broad and dark in flavour, it is surprisingly easy to drink and has unsurprisingly become a customer favourite.
