Description
As with many other wine regions in Spain, Ribera del Duero can get caught up in the naming of wines according to the aging that they have undergone. This wine is a pleasant departure from this routine and though Carmelo Rodero make Crianza and Reserva styles, this is the entry point to the winery and shows all of the hallmarks of great Ribera winemaking. Carmelo himself began making wines in the 1980s and had been working the vineyards in the region since he was 14. Having supplied grapes almost exclusively to the famed Vega Sicilia, in 1991 he thought he was at the right place to be able to make his own wines and this is exactly what he did in. Since then his daughter Beatriz has joined the winery, the family now make excellent wines that consistently receive high scores and critical reviews.
