Catena, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2013

Argentina · Mendoza
This is a brilliant red from high-altitude vineyards. Juicy, structured and dry, it is a great reason to try more than Malbec from Argentina.

Description
Catena have been hailed as some of the best winemakers practising in the world today. Their wines are the result of fastidious research into climate, geology and botany, but also the particular effect of altitude on vines. Their laboratories are stunning: the Andes. The result is that their wines are science and art in perfect balance. While we consider that it was their Malbec wines that put the winery on the map, their pride is found in their ability in other varieties. For their reds, it is Cabernet Sauvignon that has an amazing affinity to their vineyards and the quality is often as high - or higher - than their Malbecs. This is their entry level, but is suave, charming and easy to pair with a wide-range of foods.
