Description
Domaine de la Colombette like to do things a little differently. This is no bad thing as there is very high competition for wine production in the Languedoc region in the south of France, where they are based. In conversion to complete organics they have developed new varieties, saved others from extinction and go about their way looking for the best, most elegant ways to make wines from their grapes. Their reds can be elegant and earthy; indeed one of the Pinot Noirs for the estate is only 12% in alcohol, which is almost never seen in the Languedoc. This Sauvignon is almost flavoured with sweet fruit, such is the attractive concentration of blossom and apple, but even at 11.5% alcohol, it is dry and refreshing - as though it's a reminder of sunny days on the route to Marseille...
