Gran Sasso
Gran Sasso is named after the 2912-metre-tall mountain in Abruzzo of the same name that dominates the landscape for miles around. The winery is the project of winemaker Valentino Sciotti and the name of the wine isn't just an afterthought - the influence of the mountains in the area allows the wines to remain fresh and vivacious as well as authentically defining the regionality that many other Abruzzo wines cannot. This is a lovely red that has plenty of cherry fruit and a balancing earthiness that allows for food pairing with remarkable ease.
