Eric Louis
Eric Louis is famous for his red wines, and his colleague, Sophie Bertin, makes our wonderful Sauvignon Blanc wines from Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé. The vineyard - planted in the years after the Second World War that still gets used today Ðdoes however have a large quantity of Pinot Noir in it, which has left a fingerprint on all that the winery produces. This Pinot then is in their life blood and is very much an expression of the whole of the Loire for Eric and Sophie. Made using carbonic maceration, it is fresh and dark in colour but light enough a fragrant to pair easily with fish and lighter dishes as well as lamb and even duck.
