This brilliant Sauvignon Blanc from a village to the south of the Loire at Sancerre is mineral, crisp and very refreshing. A delightful aperitif.

Jean Colin
The wines made by Eric and Sophie at Jean Colin are very much part of what we do; they are family-run, quality driven and approachable across the wide range of wines that they make. This has led us to all sorts of different appellations from when we first met them - now we have more than nine different regions in the Loire that they make for us and we are constantly delighted with each wine, often in very different ways. This wine comes from the village of Quincy and is, like most of their white wines, made form Sauvignon Blanc. The difference here is that the vineyards are considerably further from the Loire river than Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé and, as Sophie told us, the vines are planted on very deep gravelly soils. This is what gives the wine its freshness, minerality and clarity of fruit flavours. If you like very dry and crisp, mouth-watering wines, then this one is for you!
