Joseph Drouhin
Joseph Drouhin's red wines are mythically outstanding at one end of the spectrum but start at humble levels with no less integrity to grape, soil and ideology. This attractive and fruity, light-bodied wine has all of the components to make a delightful experience. Gamay is not as complex a grape variety as Pinot Noir, so in handling it, Drouhin have to be respectful to what it can achieve. The results are excellent: strawberry jam and fresh-picked apples mark out a lovely, lively wine perfect for many occasions throughout the year. It's even able to be enjoyed with a slight chill on it.
