Oliver Zeter, Riesling Trocken, 2015

Germany · Pfalz · Mittelhaardt
This is brilliant wine. Riesling in the modern vein that is dry and mouth-watering, excellent with food and on its own. Like a crunchy Russet apple.

Oliver Zeter
Oliver Zeter is a very well-respected winemaker who has made wine in Italy and South Africa and fallen in love with white grape varieties, especially Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc. As a descendent of grape growers in Rhineland Pfalz, it was perhaps inevitable that he would return to the vines of his father and make something from them. In 1994 he and his brother Christian, who were working as importing agents for global wines in Europe, borrowed space in a neighbouring winery and the rest is now happy history. The winery is now in organic conversion and has a full range of the wines that Oliver loves, including Syrah, Pinot Noir, Chenin and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as the south German staple of Riesling. This is really fine Riesling that shows elegance, flair and the stylistic typicity from the region. A mouth-watering and refreshing wine, it is full of flavour and balance, and is one of the family of unique wines imported by Donnybrook Fair.
