This is a wine made by four friends who had no land… When our friend Enrico was at winemaking college, he had great plans to make wines for the best and most interesting winemakers available. However, he graduated in 2008 and could find no work. Neither could his friends, so three of them took winemaking refuge in one corner of the garage belonging to Enrico's grandfather and set out their stall to make wines. The grapes, they decided, would come from the best and oldest vines that they could find, so, they went hunting. What was surprising was the relative ease with which they found willing land-owners to lease them their vines. This, a partial reflection of the times, but also a testament to the lovely, honest, humourous and charming characters the four men possess. They are now considered to be one othe hottest acts in the whole of the country and make wines with unbelievable purity and depth, length and complexity. Mid-way between the structure of Brunello and the complexity of Gevrey Chambertin, this wine is seriously wonderful and represents unbelievable value for money. It sells out every vintage!
