Description
Giorgio Pelissero has a number of different parcels of land that can qualify for the production of Barbaresco and this is one of them. The Nubiola grapes are named after an old regional dialect name for Nebbiolo, and are grown in vineyards that sit just higher than the fog lines that come and smother many vineyards at harvest time. This means that they can get longer ripening times without the risk of rot on the grapes and, as with many in the Barbaresco and Barolo regions, this allows for superb quality in the wines that make the best out of the Nebbiolo grape. This wine is powerful and dark but not inaccessible. The nose is dark and concentrated with black fruit, raspberry, cherry and spice, and the palate is dense and structured and long. This is perfect with game and any truffle dishes that you can get your hands on.
