Description
Alejandro Fernandez is a highly-celebrated wine maker who has properties all over Spain. They interestingly make wine in each province using exactly the same techniques and grapes: tempranillo (or whatever local pseudonym is relevant) and a traditional fermentation using oak fermenters and barriques. The difference between each wine though, is considerable and the reasons are simple: terroir and climate. So that in Toro, one finds deep powerful wines that are jet-black in colour, whereas in other sites there are more elegant, currant-flavoured wines. This Ribera is the classic wine in the range, as it is firm, fruity, layered and complex. A great example from this great wine maker and a very good example of the wines from this region.
