Description
Predator Zinfandel sounds rather like it will 'come and get you', but the truth behind the name is slightly more subtle and charming. There is a nasty vineyard disease that is prevalent in northern California; one of this aphid's natural enemies is the ladybird and this is the main graphic feature in the bottle - look closely! So in protecting the vines from this destructive mite, the ladybird has become something of a very important part of the winery's arsenal. So much so, that they named the wine after the protector of these great 50-year-old Zinfandel vines; a protector who is also a Predator.
