The Chocolate Block is a popular red wine blend from South Africa's Western Cape region. The wine is made from a blend of five grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Viognier.

On the nose, The Chocolate Block is characterized by intense aromas of dark fruit, such as blackberry and plum, as well as hints of spice and chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a rich and smooth texture, featuring flavours of black fruit, vanilla, and a touch of oak. The tannins are well-structured, providing a long and lingering finish.

This wine pairs well with a variety of dishes, such as grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and strong cheeses. It can also be enjoyed on its own as a sipping wine. The Chocolate Block has gained a cult following among wine enthusiasts for its unique flavour profile and excellent value for its quality.

Tasting Notes

A dark brooding wine with aromas of cherries, espresso and cardamon spice. The dark fruit carries over to the palate which has notes of ripe plums, violets, clove and liquorice. Medium bodied, balanced and layered, the finish is clean dry and lingering.

Delivery Info

A flat delivery rate of €10.50 applies to all orders. Orders over €95 qualify for free delivery and no fee is applied for in-store collection.

We aim to dispatch all wine orders within 24 to 48 hours, however this may vary depending on product availability and during peak trading hours. Most wine products will be delivered or can be collected within 5 working days from time of ordering.

All wine deliveries are provided by courier. Deliveries take place on Monday to Friday only. You will receive a notification and a tracking number once your order has been dispatched.

Returns

Cancellation or amendments to wine orders must be made and confirmed directly with our sales team between 9am and 4pm, Monday - Friday and no later than 72 hours before the scheduled delivery or store collection date.
