Maison Trimbach
One of the oldest and most respected houses in Alsace, Trimbach is still family owned and run with a vast number of sites, Grand Crus and wines that you'd expect from such a historic producer. Their wines are sometimes so traditional that there is no mention of the vineyard on the label - this is because of the age-old respect for each Alsace house, whose skill in blending barrels of different plots would be the point of difference from their competitors. The house style then would be adapted to suit different wines and as a result, different Cuvées were born through the love of different releases that they make. Frederic Emile for example, is one for which Trimbach is eternally famous. This focus then flows through to the other wines and as such the Riesling may even come from one single site. It is just that for Trimbach; their house style and consistency of message takes priority. And so it should!
