Description
Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc is a premium white wine that is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is made by renowned winemaker Kevin Judd, who previously spent 25 years as the winemaker at Cloudy Bay, another iconic Marlborough winery.
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes are sourced from several different vineyards throughout Marlborough, each with its own unique soil and microclimate. This allows Judd to create a wine that is complex and layered, with a range of different flavours and aromas.
On the nose, Greywacke is marked by intense aromas of tropical fruits like passionfruit and guava, as well as citrus notes of grapefruit and lime. There is also a distinctive herbal character, with hints of jalapeño and green bell pepper, that is a hallmark of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
On the palate, the wine is crisp and refreshing, with a bright acidity that balances its fruitiness. The flavours are complex and layered, with the tropical fruit notes complemented by subtle hints of mineral and flint. The wine has a long and satisfying finish that leaves a lasting impression.
